a Honduran Fairy-Tale Tragedy

Teatro Renacimiento is a wonderful theatre located in the Plaza Millenium. The drama students are presenting the Flower of Olivia, an adaptation of a Honduran (Garifuna) fable, which also has international roots.

The performance will last about 50 minutes.

Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week was celebrated May 4-8

This year DPTO organized a full week of treats for our teachers and staff. Each day of they week they received little treats, like lifesaver candies, chewing gum, and Discovery School logo water bottles. On Tuesday parents and students showed their personal thanks to the teachers with gifts, cards, performances, flowers... On Friday the DPTO organized a lunch for the teachers, with hamburgers, hotdogs, pasta salad, potato salad, and cake! Thank you teachers and staff!

Buy a Personal Ad in the Yearbook!

The Yearbook is currently under construction and you can be a part of it!

The entire Discovery community is invited to sponsor ads in the yearbook to congratulate a student, thank a teacher, say good bye, etc. Be creative and express yourself while helping to limit yearbook production costs.

Family Night at Discovery School

The Family Night was a big success. The teachers organized some great games (who knew the marriage booth would be so popular!) The DPTO would like to thank our many parent and teacher volunteers. Kudos to Martha Bandes for the delicious chicken wings, pupusas and the extremely popular corn dogs. From the bake sale, food sales and t-shirt sales, the DPTO netted over 8,000 lempiras!
